Verses on the Essential Christian Message - ‘Jesus is Lord’

In I Corinthians chapter 1, Jesus Christ is mentioned 17 times and referred to over 50 times.

“. . . to those everywhere who call on the name of of our Lord Jesus Christ - their Lord and ours.”      1 Corinthians 1:2

The person of Jesus, the Son of God, and his death on behalf of us is fundamental teaching.

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created… so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”   Colossians 1:15-18

“For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.”       2 Corinthians 4:5

“. . . if we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”          Romans 14:8-9
