1 Kings 8:54-61. Solomon describes God

Solomon has just finished praying a remarkable prayer to the Lord God.  In this prayer we are reminded that:

1.  God is Magnificent  1 Kings 8:22

2.  God is faithful 1 Kings 8:23, 24 24, 25

3.  God listens In 1 Kings 8:27-53, how many times do we learn that God hears his people.  I counted 12 times.  Yet in most instances it takes a personal problem to wake people up to realise how much we need God.

4.  God forgives 1 Kings 8:35-36, 39-40    This is the message of the whole Bible.  God is gracious and will always forgive those who genuinely turn back to God in sincere repentance. Saying a prayer is not enough, it must involve a willingness to permanent y change the direction of our lives.

5.  God is everywhere 1 Kings 8:27   Solomon knew that the Lord God cannot be contained in a temple!  Of the twelve references to God being a hearing God, the last six say that God hears from heaven. (verse 32, 34, 39, 43, 45, 49)
